| This is Francesca Mangaoang who is very strong in both the bench and deadlift ! she was instrumental in the BIG award to Bull and Flo, she read the dedication beautifully at presentation time !

This is me attempting to lift more than anyone on the beach that day ..it's only 505..and I lifted it twice..but I made the mistake of using foot blocks on a standard bench and lifted my butt..thus nullifying the otherwise perfect lift my goal was 534 that day but I never got to try it...I'm sure I was strong enough but I had 'one o' those days...

| Here are the great awards for the day..a fine Deadlift sculpture and a personalized award certificate...as nice as many World Record scrolls...all award recipients were happy with their great trophies and framable art !

| Speaking of awards --we surprised Bull with 2 trophies that harken back to the first Alki Meet in 1996 when Richard Mezoff ordered trophies fitting for the "Beach" --and handed out 100 FISH trophies to hard working lifters who responded with,as they say here on the internet..." WTF???"....luckily Bull "got the joke"

| A great martial Arts demonstration was given between bench and dead sessions..

| ....the OLD implement of 1890's Strongmen..the Kettlebell is all the rage for fitness and strength now...a great 20 minute session on it's exercises and use was done..everything old IS new again !

| I believe this is the guy who lifted the heaviest of the day...a 465 !! I'm thinking this is the big Washington state Highway patrol record holder !

| Our BC Pal Mark Vezina kicked butt in both the bench press and deadlift ..he is one of the nicest people I've ever met and one powerful and precise lifter !

Garrielle Keeble was one of our judges--she said she could have thrown a frisbee between my butt and the bench when I goofed with the BIG weight of the day...Garrielle and Chris Grekoff are Masters champs from the ADFPA era ! and great people who have volunteered at ALKI for most of the 10 years !

How will I break the habit of lifting my Butt off the bench so I can RE-Break the IPF Masters 3 Bench record??--I wont do anything different and just get reverse liposuction of the posterior gluteal acreage !

Then I'll get back to heavy training !
so I can get more of these !

I'm training to get one more big result in the bench and or full powerlifting this year, there are THREE big meets I want to go to ..but I bet i'll only afford one...stay tuned to the blog for the rumination on where, why and how...meanwhile here's one last view of Alki as Patty Tidmarsh stands in the sun !
