The 11th annual Bull Stewart ALKI Classic in Seattle was a Great WABDL event.
I exceeded my World record 534 by "chipping it" that is, adding 1.1 pounds to it, a nice 535 !

James Crawford was the best lifter at ALKI with this mind boggling 710

James nearly got this great 777 lift, look at the bar bend...at that weight it has a tendency to want to flip over --imagine the grip strength it takes to control and hold this phenomenal weight !

Nancy Carpenter went 4 for 4,ending with a new WABDL Canadian National Record--85 KILOS and 1.1 pound 'chips' totalling close to 190 pounds
Nancy was good for much more but is saving it for the Worlds in Anaheim !

| Winifred Pristell is 68 years old and broke World Records in the Bench and Dead on the beach...I think she trains at Bull Stewart's great new gym !

| I was fortunate to have Joe Gast of Tacoma,a 600+ bencher,hand off the bar for me-it was an easy day for him with my 535,because is used to handing off for the Best bencher in the World, 'Ryan 1036 Kennelly'---Joe's perfect lifts really helped me focus on the job at hand...plus both Nancy and Jane Smith helped me into my Magic KATANA by Titan.

| Here is a record breaking deadlift by Francesca Mangaoang ! she pulled 440 later as a 4th and got it to the top but was turned down on a technicality...she was super strong at this meet !

| I was very happy to meet the champion, James Crawford and his brother at the contest...for one of the best benchers in the world, James is incredibly humble and shows a genuine interest in other peoples lifting! I see James joining the 800+ bench club by Worlds in November.

| The contest had many older lifters like me (64) and Winifred (68) and a few very good teens aged 14,15,16 and there was even one very impressive 12 year old in the meet..Powerlifting is a sport for all ages and sizes ! I think we had 65 or more lifters...sorry we didn't get more pictures of some of the other great perfomances of the day.

| Ron Tidmarsh and his wife Patty were at the meet ! Patty is a top USAPL/IPF lifter, and Ron is absolutely legendary in Washington state lifting ..when I first started,he was one of my idols, a total inspiration !!
He doesn't compete anymore, but stays in excellent shape, these are the kind of people that make powerlifting a great sport !

Bull Stewart has just opened a new Bigger Gym in Seattle The Columbia City Fitness Center it is huge and classy and has a powerlifting friendly atmosphere,plus the presence of Bull Stewart THE living legend in the world of strength !
