Robo gets his 501 on home turf --the 12th time in contests this year he has lifted 500 pounds or more ( 515 WABDL World Record best) Now at 62 years old.

Here he is with 501 at the BCPA Fall classic November 14th --but can he get enough velocity on the bar to make a basket from there??

Here's Kim Dennis who won best Female Bencher with a 97.5 KG bench ( 215 pounds) in the 67 KG class --Kim Traveled from Kelowna to compete and she was the meet director behind this years Western Canadian championships in June.

And also doing well in the Bench meet was Nancy Carpenter who won first in her masters division with a 70 KG bench here (her best is an easy 75 KG in Portland in August) Nancy was playing it safe, to meet BCPA Judging criteria --This is a PR for Nancy in this lifting association !

Here's 125 Kg class winner Ross Daigle Benching 210 KGS(462 pounds) He and masters lifter John Kirkbride had a great contest going with John getting a great 205 on this day !

Tony Tomra had lost lots of weight and still benched marvelously, he made 192.5 KGS (424 pounds) @ 90 KG Bodyweight to be first place in his division !

WHO IS the craziest ol' geezer in bench pressing history???

YES ! It is Robo ---who else would bench press on November 10th in a Big WABDL competition then 4 days later do another meet in Chilliwack ???

FOUR DAYS REST?? at 62 years old are you kidding me ????

what was the exact load robo underwent?? Weds. Nov 10 Bench 501 and 507 -- for 1st place in the WABDL 308 61-67 class and Best Lifter award among the 61-67 classes 220 to superheavy ! --then on Sunday (covered above) he benched 485 and 501 for 1st out of 3 Supers and best male bencher using the wilks formula and NO age criteria !!

There were 5 best lifters on this day of competition here are 3 of the best with Robo in the middle !

Here is Superheavy Dave Marchant doing a GREAT 650 pounds for a World record in tough WABDL competition Weds. Dave is in the Law and Fire 40-47 age class !!

After Wednesday's competition the competition really heated up -- Monterey California's Matt LaMarque Benched a world beating 771 @ 218 bodyweight Steve Wong hit 804 in the bench and as usual 700 or so dedicated lifters from all over the globe gathered to again make Gus Rethwisch's WABDL Worlds the biggest meet in Power history !!

Here is Gus from a Worlds a few years back with Joel Thiessen at the award ceremonies...Joel by the way was at Chilliwack to view the Fall Classic and he is now a PRO highland games competitior who's has been covered in MILO magazine recently!
