The CPO Canadian National Championship and Independent Powerlifting America's Cup June 3rd Calgary Alberta

I had a great day at this contest with a 700 KG total and 4 GPC and 4 AWPC 60-64 Masters World records !

One of BC's finest lifters Tony Tomra had even a better day in the open class with a 790 KG total and PR's in everything he did this is one of the professional photos you could buy immediately after your lift.

The Great Bert Merriman from Winnipeg was seriously injured but still pulled a fabulous 250 KILO Deadlift at 57 years old !

Gary Bobrovitz a TV Newsman from Calgary won best master lifter by formula
...here he makes the 'gals go crazy !'

Here Gary breaks a Global Powerlifting Committee World Record in the Deadlift !

The Biggest Bench Press of the day was a Huge 705 lbs from Clint Harwood, here he pictures victory against that massive bar !

Clint was Best Bencher --I was awarded Best Masters Bencher...here we meet, and contemplate giving the servers at the all you can eat buffet 'Feelings of inadaquacy.'

I squatted 512 on a very gimpy leg/knee/hip but it still managed to break the GPC and AWPC World Mark...here is my opener with 501 pounds ! --"Santa looks drunk dont he ?"

Here are Andrey Butenko, president of the CPO and Legendary James Rouse from Chicago ...Mr. Rouse is a World record holder who came to lend a hand officiating !

There were Monolifts to warm up on with plenty of volunteers to operate the machine and load the bar--hey I know this guy ...he helped with my shirt in the second meet !

You also can hang from the monolift bar to put on the Canvas Style squat suit--this tightens it up..

Here's a shot I got of Tony Tomra squatting 325 KILOS

Tony and his wife relax the day after in the warm up room where good coffee and fruit plates were provided for the lifters !

The crowd for this meet was loud and alive for the entire contest ! a super event CPO the place were Powerlifting is fun !

The WABDL Push Pull Nationals
May 20th Phoenix Arizona
I did well with this easy 507 Bench Press for a first place in the masters 61-67 division
--I weighed in at 297 and was in the "308's"

I was 2 inches away from locking out a World Beating 525.7 in the 105 degree Phoenix heat !

The star of the show was Mike Womack who tried 871 but didn't get it...

But he did get a mind boggling 832 pound bench to sweep the awards this day !

Speaking of trophies, this is what Gus gave as awards in this contest...many federations to give this type of trophy out as the TEAM award
...Not WABDL--every first placer gets one of these !

Here I am with Damian from the "Bloody Lawn.com gym" he has a 575 bench but was just helping people today..he torqued my shirt perfectly and gave powerful hand offs on the platform !

Tom Manno tried 722 today but the score sheet has him missing his lifts...Tom has many fans and has a line of supplements he was selling at a booth at the contest !
