From Auburn, CA to Vancouver, BC A novelty record [remember the 45 RPM single?] persona "Thorndike Pickledish Pacifist Choir" and Dr ZinGRR...comedy records that were played by Dr. Demento's L.A. and syndicated shows...with titles like Walter Wart The Freaky Frog---Viet Nama Mama---Sleepy Stonewell's Brotherhood Boogie---Lenny Frog---Sinister Lunchmeat---and The Imperial Grand MOTHER Robert O. had them clapping their feet, stomping their hands and putting their minds together for more! Walter Wart took Sioux Falls, South Dakota by storm! On KELO it bumped Aaron Neville's "Tell It Like It Is" out of the number 1 spot it's first week on the chart...and kept "Georgy Girl" at #2...If you check the chart closely, take a look at #30...The Thorndike Pickledish Choir had a double sided hit! Don't forget Dr ZinGRR had his own Monster Movie TV show in the Seattle area in the 70's. The cult following there was amazing. |
