This is my latest WABDL World Record-- 534--I had a hard time getting my opener in, but managed to
get it on my 2nd, to qualify to take a record breaker attempt...for those of you who havent seen the video at my blog

I lifted 534 two times within 3 minutes...my 3rd attempt was turned down 2 to 1--but I came back with great luck here !

As always, HUGE weights were being handled by the WABDL elite, look at this mighty lift ! just one of the impressive Bench Presses at this big meet in Olympia...more than twice the lifters of last year, around 114 in one day, if I'm not mistaken !

On the womens side, Susan Jackson broke BIG records with around 365 !!!

| Steadman Mathis hit 534 today as well--but as a lighter,younger,more handsome person than me !

| Here, we meet at trophy time...what's with me and the eyes? --did the moose on the tee shirt goose me? geez !

| Our prizes were ornate Swords from Brent Mikesell's Iron Gladiators, our sponsor this year---Yes, it is "Weapons of intermediate destruction" crossing the border....

| Here's the Nancitizer with her 1st place award !! --we were surprised when we came back Sunday...the Peace Arch was CLOSED....we thought....Damn !! some one has alerted the guards about our 'pointy presents'...nope...it was "Hands across the Border" which included the Boy Scouts..and sumpin'....the trillion people caught in the surprise closure/detour line..were oh, so happy...I know we were.......and of course the idling cars were such a wonderful thing for the atmosphere locally...anymore bright ideas,border bozos??--Damn,and I thought they caught Usama or sumpin !

| Not a great shot due to lack of light --but look at the weight...whatta we have here 700 or more ??? WOW !!!

| Of course the deadlifts were well contested too...and included everyone from new lifters to giants of the sport..WABDL has something for every level of strength and expertise !!

| Look at this woman pull--great effort and intensity here !! --also on the platform in her flight, was a 12 year old girl attempting 300 pounds--later, the men bent the bars with well over 600 pounds ! the restaurant upstairs shook as the weights crashed below !

| Here is the Great set up we had at the Red Lion...WABDL is following suit with bench attachments to catch the bar in emergencies..aiding the lifter and the hard working spotters.

In the Best lifter category, 54 plus, I won in the 220 plus categories... my pal here, won in the "light" divisions--he's only 80 years old...one STRONG Grampa !!!--and,I dont think he looks 80 either,does he?? --oh yes--Barbells the fountain of youth !!

Nancy Carpenter got first in the 47-53 age group with a 187 pound bench press...she took 2 attempts with 198 that were so very close !! next time for Nancy and the magic 90 KILO mark !--here are some shots she took for the website..with a little disposable camera...we'll start with the view in and around the grounds of the hotel !!

Make plans now to enter the WORLDS in Anahiem California (at the Hilton) across from Disneyland ! info is at the site --GUS ! Wants Canadian's --you do not need to do a qualifier to enter...well...just be a GOOD lifter that's all..
