Steve Wong gets a mindboggling 854 World Record Bench !
Steve Wong uses a single ply Titan shirt for an all time record...Steve passes ALL his drug tests and Is NOW regarded the top heavyweight bencher in WABDL ...He later tried 903 but it fell on him and the spotters saved him ..he was fine and waved to the crowd !! --Lift it?? --I have trouble counting all the plates !!

Robo got a new World record in the 61-67 class with a 518 Bench !
The battle was huge with Don James getting a 485 this day but nearly pushing a 515 (not quite there--but on it's way soon ) Don only got the opening lift and outweighed Robo by 40 pounds...so robo would've won on openers.....BUT robo went on to lift the 518 twice, once for himself --and once for the judges !!
Gus was announcing, and really got the audience enthused for Don ...but 'ho hummed' when Robert O. lifted...a stategy that backfired..."Dont tick robo off...It makes him lift better "
--- OR --- maybe that was Gus' strategy (?)

| There were some Mighty Lifts in this huge contest there were numerous 600 and 700 benches and Deadlifts so much so that you had to do 700 or so just to be noticed !

Example of HUGE lifts being 'Ordinary ' at WABDL meets
Micheal Womack of California Benched 780.3 at 308 and a junior (20--25)
and Terry Corwin of Oregon Broke the World Junior Record at 309+ with a 655.7 Bench
also lifting Super weights was John Hudson of Illinois who Benched 606 and Deadlifted 700 in the Sub masters...
And Dave Marchant Benched 683.2 in the 40-46 masters !!
On top of that Kara Bohigian tried a 374 Bench at 148 womens group!! the most ever tried in WABDL history !!

| Kara missed... due to an ACL operation weeks ago the odd stance and brace didn't give her her usual solid base

| Kara told Nancy Carpenter that she has succeeded with an astonishing 391 pounds in the bench !!!

| Got a crush on Kara??? -Too Bad ... this is her fiance' lifting off ---the Amazing Ryan Kennelly --winner of the bench press for $$$$ at this years Arnold--a man with a 900 bench ! --oh yeah these are his muscles RELAXED !

| Tom Eiseman is the best !! @ 181 he did a 727 deadlift an opener that looked only moderately hard ! What a deadlift powerhouse !! A terrifically nice guy too !

| I'm AMAZED by Raw lifter Daniel Stevens who deadlifted a 628.2 for an Oregon record...and benched with NO shirt a 435.2 at masters 54-60 --That is true strength !!!

| Rosemary Panza got a 176 Bench and a 325 Deadlift --here she is helped into her shirt by Brian Baertlein ( 573 dead-429.7 bench @ 198 40-46 Masters -a splendid photographer too) and Don James (my opponent Saturday with a 485 bench) Rosemary was fun to watch

| Here's Nancy who won first in her division and was oh so close to a new Canadian Record bench--she stands with All Strength Celebrity Julie Havelka who has now started Pro Wrestling under the Name "Jewels"

| Legendary squatter Brent Mikesell was at the meet with lifting gear--books--tapes--bands and other stuff --he is one fine gentleman...his best squat was an astounding 1141--he is an all around APF Champion too !!!--If you ever see a Hummer with 'Iron Gladiator' emblazened upon it --That's Brent !!!
